The Bunny Trail Book Series includes the three books The Bunny Trail, Thou Wilt Go Now, Rabbit, and I Go With Thee.
The Bunny Trail, a coming-of-age story set in Florence, Italy and New York City, opens on the day young Bunny befriends Michael after they meet as children in an unexpected way. When Michael’s facial deformity doesn’t frighten Bunny away, they soon forge a friendship that saves them both from the darkness in their lives.
Within their safe, little world and through their shared trips and travels, they learn more about themselves, explore their gender fluidity, and discover who they are and who they want to be. Mistakes are made and situations tear them apart, but they always find a way to make it back to one another, and throughout their lives, they learn that committed relationships don’t always have to fit a mold.
The Bunny Trail, Book 1, Part 1: Michael’s Story chronicles Bunny’s summer visits with the Aceti family in Florence, Italy. Bastian is the youngest of the Aceti children, and Bunny meets Bastian when she is 4 and he is 13. When she cannot pronounce his real name, she chooses to call him Michael. The Bunny Trail, Book 1, Part II: Diarah’s Story begins where Bunny and Michael have to part for a while. Bunny relocates back to New York, and to reinvent herself, she changes her legal name to Diarah and starts a new “family” with those who need her as much as she needs them.
